National Apprenticeship Week runs from the 14th to 18th March and is co-ordinated by the National Apprenticeship Service and is designed to celebrate apprenticeships and the positive impact they have on individuals, businesses and the wider economy.
Apprenticeships can be a fantastic benefit to a business but many businesses still do not use them because of a lack of understanding of the process involved. National Apprenticeship Week looks to rectify this gap in knowledge and understanding and present the wealth of benefits that an apprenticeship can bring to a business.
Apprenticeships are structured training programmes which give you a chance to work (literally) towards a qualification. They help you gain the skills and knowledge you need to succeed in your chosen industry.
Apprenticeships give individual’s fantastic experience in the working world and shows employers that they can have a positive impact on a business. Hands on training allows the individual to gain experience in the industry whilst they learn and allows the business to train an individual in their own standards and practises from day one.
Apprenticeships are also a fantastic way to increase your workforce without major expenses. With grants and other funding opportunities available apprenticeship schemes can be a real cost effective way of boosting your workforce.
There are a wide range of apprenticeship schemes available for companies to get involved in and these schemes often can be re-used time and time again if you find them a successful way of growing your workforce.
If you company needs to increase their workforce either now or in the near future then looking into apprenticeships will be a great way of enhancing this process.
